Almer Township is located in Tuscola County in what is known as the Thumb of Michigan. It sits on the northeastern outskirts of the city of Caro, Michigan, which is also the seat of Tuscola County. Columbia Twp to the north, Ellington Twp. to the east, Fairgrove Twp to the west, and Indianfields Twp to the south. The township is 34.6 square miles of business, residential and farmland. M24 and M81 are primary business zones. As of the 2010 Census, the population was 3,101.
